As a child I was should upon which is shit upon if you don’t know, and you might not since Jeff is illuminating it. By my 60’s, I knew when this pressure from another was imposed on me. 70, and smooth sailing’, baby..no shoulds, just coulds. Gotta love mountaintops🏜️

Every time a "should" creeps into my thoughts, I know the answer is No.

There’s nothing quite like seeing one of your ultimate bands sing their ultimate tracks live amongst your people. The reverb in your chest, the goosebumps, the collective connection, your face in pain from smiling: oh THIS is why I’m alive. Love this performance, I can almost feel what it must’ve been like to be there (almost).

Instead of saying, “I should do this” say “I get to do this.” Side note: a friend of mine’s son is in the band War on Drugs. We are all from a medium size town in Maryland. It’s amazing; his success and to see it talked about here is so cool.

'I get to do this' was my mantra for 2023: https://fforest.substack.com/p/tree-509-my-mantra-for-2023

About your connection with The War On Drugs: Wow! They are an incredibly talented group of guys + Eliza who is also incredibly talented. Are you at liberty to say who your friend's son is?
