🙏 TREE 509: My mantra for 2023

I get to do this.

This mantra…

… turns on my gratitude. If I get to do a thing, it must mean I’m privileged in some way, that I’m receiving a gift, that I have something to enjoy, that I am experiencing an opportunity to learn and grow.

… makes me an active participant. If I get to do a thing, I want to show up fully. I want my curiosity turned on. I want to do it on purpose to the best of my ability.

… focusses my energy. If I get do a thing, I probably also get to not do a thing, or at least do it differently. I’m living with my eyes open. I’m choosing what I give my attention to. I’m choosing my responses to what life throws at me.

I asked Midjourney to make a picture of a glamorous woman selling potatoes in a television advert. The image is amazing, but I have so many questions. Take a minute to look carefully; you will have questions too.

Spotify dropped Leader of the Pack in my ears a few weeks ago and that was going to be my choice for today, then I clicked through to Wunderhorse’s album and listened to Butterflies (Spotify).
