Shadenfreud. New word to me but it’s a good one after looking for it’s meaning. I have heard many times that pride comes before a fall. Having ego confronted at times has kept me inventorying the way it happens to me. I recognize the ego desiring to be right. Do I want to be right or happy?
Let’s go for happy! Some of my most important growth, especially professionally, has happened when my ego has taken a bruising and I resisted the urge to defend it and leaned in to curiosity instead. It’s never fun in the moment but always worth it in the long run.
