Monday
Some days it doesn’t feel good to be you. Some days no one is saying that it’s good to be you. Some days those voices telling you to be someone else are overpoweringly loud.
But
you evolved/were created to be part of this planet at this time. You have a one-of-a-kind mix of body, personality, preferences and talents.
Tuesday
Everywhere you look, the top 0.1%
and the top 0.1% wannabes
are showing you that success
is unattainable,
or,
more likely,
that success is yours for taking
when you simply take
this course, take
this pill, take
this shortcut. Take
this all with a shovel of salt.
‘… and measure your success against someone else’s illusion.’ Damn, what a brilliant way to put it. —Jim LePage
Wednesday
That bastard sun will come up again tomorrow. And every day after that for the next 3.5 billion years. So here we are in this morning’s sunlight. There’s work to do. Let’s find the joy and do this life.
Also, I wrote: ‘New ambition: seeing this [Obonjayar] song live.’
Thursday
What is the point of walking, if I’m unaware this Earth is holy ground? I get to do this life once. I want to do it all the way.
Also, I bought tickets to see Obongjayar later this year.
I’m looking for a song title. (It’s famous – 632 million streams on Spotify.) The clue:
Hugh Jackman, Daniel Day Lewis – which?
The answer to the last two PUNZLEs was: But wait, there’s more! via But, mate, there’s war and Butt weight, there’s more.
Here’s a pleasant little rocker to take into the weekend.
Enjoy the heatwave (if you’re in the UK)
Happy weekend!
Jeff
That Bastard Sun a good title for a book
