I try to keep the kitsch out of advice and save it for ornaments. And I definitely don't succeed at a get-to mindset all the time. Maybe when I'm grown up.
Dear Lawd, I had to exegete that! I had a friend that said often, “there are no have-to’s, only get-to’s”. I adopted it even tho at first it gave my brain a cramp😖 Like any discipline worthwhile for benefit, it takes mindfulness. Choosing wisely. My mindset is mostly “I get to”. If there’s resistance, I disengage with that tumbleweed thought. I avoid suffering in thinking unwisely. Minor adjustment while protecting my peace.🦾✌🏽🪷🎯blessings, Jeff, dug the tune, will dance to it in a bit☕️🫖
When I read 'If there’s resistance…' it reminded me that sometimes there are things I think I have to do, but in reality I don't have to at all. I can just NOT do them. The have-to comes from habit or social convention, not necessity.
I love that this is positive advice without being kitche. (Spelling?) What you are saying works. I try to live that way but I get an ouchy sometimes.
