Great Post. One thing I've always struggled with, with every belief system, is this idea that everyone else is wrong. The claim to know the mind and intention of God based on a book that is thousands of years old seems the height of hubris. It's like an ant claiming to know the mind of a human being. I think you are taking a wise, but probably, unpopular position. Glad to be here with you.

Thanks, Peter. Judging by the response to this post, I think there are a bunch of us here who are thinking in a similar way.

It's also important for there to be people who are fully committed to their belief system. Without the people who are willing and able to go deep into one thing, there would be no one to discover the insights of Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, materialism, etc. for the world to benefit from

"I believe your growth will cause you to be who you need to be, and that includes what you believe about the fundamental nature of the universe." - this resonated with me big time. As long as we're open and curious, our growth in whatever direction will make us into who we're supposed to be.

I came here to say the same thing about that sentence. So succinctly expresses the outlook I’ve slowly grown into over 48 years of life.

Thank you Jim and Anna. I really do believe that sentence.

I also REALLY love the idea of saying “nope” to the question of “who’s right?” (or any other silly question like that.) This whole post really hit for me. Thank you, Jeff!

I'm getting comfortable with not knowing. That makes other people massively uncomfortable.

I love not knowing !

It's a very freeing feeling. It's actually helping my anxiety quite a bit.

YES! As is the phrase "both are true" (my new favorite) because sometimes diametrically opposed things can both be true. Liberating!!

Both are true. This so much. This is one of the gifts of particle physics. It gave us the concept and language to understand two irreconcilable things to be true. I'm sure there are other ways of of grasping that idea – old folk tales and parables are a couple – but Schrödinger's cat is a new and profound metaphor.

Yes!!! Imagine if more of us adopted the Schrödinger’s Cat metaphor to life! I also love the magically mysterious idea of the secret third thing.

It really does! People love certainty. But without uncertainty, how can we ever discover anything new?

We can't!

I’m looking forward to the idiot post! Nah, let’s not. It’s about removing what does not see the human being in a non-judgmental way. Loving ourself and Others is the lesson for me.🎯

I promise if I do the idiot post, it will include all of us, kindly. I love the idea of editing out the judgement of people.
