17 I started my little radio career as an intern at a sunrise to sunset Christian AM radio station, the one with the preaching I listened to while playing with Lego. I was 15. They invited me to come have a go. I said, no. My mother said, yes. So it was settled. When I was 16, they hired me for money. I worked there until I was 18, then went back for a bit when I was 21. Here are a few notable moments:
Jeff, I was a member of the Crystal Cathedral when it was still known as the Hour of Power. Me and my (actually very good) girls choir sang You Light Up My Life on TV with Debbie Boone. : ) I was also baptised on TV (same year).
I was on Family Life radio a bunch. I had to learn projecting my voice, too. I had to answer, “would I spank my children?” It became a gig with the well known radio announcer and reknowned author. Again, I relate.
Lip syncing the radio talk parts. Thank you for that huge smile.

I want to read your FIELD GUIDE! So how about writing a post for FIELD GUIDE?
Yeah, Marya, lets do FIELD GUIDE together 🤗
Jeff and Skyler -- I would be up for it. But this is still a bit trauma-wrapped for me! Let me process a bit more and I'll reach out. :)
Whenever you’re ready, my friend! ❤️
That is super interesting! I was aware of Robert Schuller and watched the Hour of Power a few times.
(I only semi apologize for saying "me and my" instead of "My choir and I." Sometimes I choose to not grammar.
Oh. My. Gawd. That question.
Live. On the air. I had no warning it was coming.
