Cara, thank you for what you do. It’s worth so much more than they are paying you. (This is true for all teachers, except maybe in Finland.) I love the reminder to do better than β€˜because I said so’.

Skyler, congratulations on a superb beginning!

It has been incredibly fun already.

Best part about it? It’s only the beginning!

So much wisdom in this post! I really enjoyed reading it.

I especially appreciated this: "After all, there are times when we all get a little overwhelmed and need reassurance." Amen to that.

Cara you are doing important work. How amazing and wonderful to be present with these little ones. What a positive, beautiful impact.

It amazes me that in our adulthood we think we’re the only ones that feel stress. Imagine be pint sized and not understanding even a quarter of what we understand.

The kids deserve so much credit for making it look easy most days.

Hats off to you! I sincerely mean that. I have wondered how the tinies are doing with the pandemic affecting family life as it does. Thanks for the insight to fan the flame in me that passionate people teach kids. I admire you doing what you love to fill you up. Your kids receive the benefits. As I read I remember a teacher that knew how to extract my daughter from the death grip on my leg. She was a mama’s girl for sure. But this sweet woman talked her into the class after days of trying. I was grateful for Miss Baker and still am. Keep on having fun with your life! The tinies are waiting!

My girl has two teachers like Miss Baker this year. They made the first day of school for my mini so much easier for the both of us. No tears from her, and only a few from me after I got back in the car. HA.

They grow so quick. It’s important to savor every bit I get.

Those first few weeks are so hard on them having to say goodbye to parents! My oldest son is 6 and still struggles to leave my side. He also has an amazing teacher that is willing to give him some hugs and reassurance. I feel so humbled to be trusted by parents. They're letting me spend time with their most precious loves.

You are one in a million. I know only one other elementary teacher. I love children and during the pandemic, I taught kiddos ages 2-15 at a women’s shelter. I’m a teacher by gifting so it got me through until their teacher healed. I realized how I loved the kids and bonded but my gag reflex was relieved of snotty noses and dirty diapers. Like I said yesterday, hats off! And blessings of health, love, peace and joy to continue the astounding gift you are honing.🌺🍎
