One.
Year 2 has a been quite a year for FFOREST.
We started last September with just me writing TREE five days a week. Since then number of subscribers has grown 87%. Most of that growth is thanks to the relentless promotion work of Skyler Cail who joined me in November.
In January, we launched a new Friday publication. It took us a while to figure it out and get the name right. But now Skyler’s FIELD GUIDE is featuring fantastic articles by really interesting people every week. We set out to increase people’s curiosity and empathy. I hope that’s the effect it’s having.
We rebranded from The FOREST to FFOREST and made everything feel a little more inclusive.
I wrote what I think is one of my more useful pieces, The Boring Ol’ Materialist’s Guide to Manifesting.
This spring and summer, my family lived through a crisis like we have never experienced – I’ll probably write about it sometime – and I started a new job. We are still working on our move to Bristol. It’s getting close. Through the crisis, a bunch of TREE contributors stepped up with posts and artwork to keep TREE going and give Skyler a much-needed month off. I am beyond grateful.
Best of all, we had contributions from 35 people besides Skyler and me, plus comments and email replies. FFOREST is becoming a community.
FFOREST Year 3 starts Monday 5 September. We are tweaking a few things. We are going to have even more people contributing. We are in the early early stages of planning a new publication that I’ve been dreaming about for months. I’m so excited about getting back to writing and drawing.
Thank you so much for subscribing, reading, commenting, sharing and growing slowly.
Tomorrow, we’ll give the last word of the year to Jess Lea-Wilson. (The posts by Miles that I announced a couple weeks ago will appear in September.)

Two.
I have three questions.
Three.
It’s time to get on the Hourglvss bandwagon while there are still seats at the front.
PS re: My tea experiment – Clipper decaf does taste like real tea. It’s crazy expensive though, so I’m back on the Tesco Finest decaf Earl Grey for now.
Well done for 2 fantastic years. And for giving opportunities to other writers.
I am a nomad finding internet this morning! I miss FForest as a daily but I’m grateful to see this one. You’re a frickin brilliant genius, Jeff. Give us what you’ve got! We’re hungry wolves!
