What I resist, persists. So I actually obey resistance by doing the thing I resist. When I don’t “feel like “ emptying the trash, writing, communicating, paying bills and the like, I override the resistance. What’s more, I find it enjoyable to do the thing that 2 seconds ago I didn’t want to do. It proves to me it’s my thoughts that need to change.
Well done for managing to override resistance on all those daily things. I do an exercise where I write out my fears and I have learnt that I can disregard anything that fear says.
"Susan had a thought. It might not be a good one." Lol - yes, Karen relates! A friend of mine texted me a screen shot yesterday from an app that said "we have over 60,000 thoughts a day; 85% of those thoughts are negative". Whew.
Exactly! It's kind of a heavy thought in itself. My anxiety brain throws up so much crazy crap in a day. I have to actively ask myself if a thought is reasonable.
Yep. My anxiety brain does the same. Apparently, it's a similar statistic with our worries. I can't remember if it's 80% or 85% of them, but which ever number it is, they don't happen. So much wasted energy!
I'm really loving Susan xx
Thanks!
Really enjoying your guests this week! Sharing with you one of my favorite substack artists who write about--wait for it--trees today!

Thank you. I'm glad you are finding the work useful. I will check out that tree article. I'm a big fan of trees!
