One.
Human beings are idiots.1
Extend grace.
In Christian theology, grace has a specific meaning: underserved kindness. I think that’s a beautiful idea. It also reveals a fantastic power that you have. You have power to show kindness to idiots who don’t deserve it! When you extend grace, you free yourself from being a victim of people’s idiocy and you help yourself and the idiot remember that they are better than their current behaviour.
Two.
There have been a lot of throwbacks lately, not a lot of drawings. What’s going on is I’m working on finding a new job. I’m working on a new FFOREST drawing project that will be super fun (for me, at least) once I get the up front work done. And this week my family is dealing with some heavy heavy stuff.
We need a break.
So we’re taking one, starting right now. TREE will be back on 16 May with a series of posts from new guest author Cali Bird. They are so good! FIELD GUIDE will be back on 20 May with possibly my favourite post so far. It’s by a guy named Jared.
