Alison, bravoβ pursuing dance. I did also and still enjoy getting my groove on, usually while cooking to tunes. Iβm French so my Gran introduced me to Edith. Thanks for the memory of that. Edith impressed me as a compelled human that was a needed songbird of that era. To capture an audience the way she did with pure elegance and grace was such a gift. I am meditating your line, learning keeps us humble. Thatβs so lovely a truth. Iβm learning to travel with the weather now. What are you learning that is humbling? Itβs a hard word to negotiate but give it a go!
Denelle, I like your questions! Maybe the "humbling" reveals that the learning is the real stuff I need to know. Mulling this, it's not so much any organized learning (though that has been true in the past--maybe that indicates a great teacher...?) but mostly what I dig into on my own, or what life throws me, and the mental/emotional process of growing from it.
Re-shaping my writing career as I have, and am still, from academic to sharing writing knowledge via a newsletter; I've had to learn some tech stuff, and developing LISTENING, not just to subscribers, but to directions my gut is pulling me. I need to continue to learn from this.
The most humbling is the most personal. I think my memoir of caregiving gets into that (and I've been on that path since!) Thinking I could meet needs, and realizing I don't have a cape to flap around in! Was just the beginning...
Flamenco was very humbling--I had to wrestle with it. I was always a step behind. It became Progress when I was only half a step behind everyone else in the class!
Thank you for the question, the read, your comments!

Iβm gleaning. Learning what we need to know. Thatβs it!
Gleaning--one of my most favourite words!
Denelle and Alison, I am enjoying your conversations this week.
Me2!
