Really well put. I agree, it's a lot to do with those unseen pressures to cook 'fancy' food that develops an engrained sense of failure in people. And if you can't create these perfections the emotional choice is to get fooled by the photography of the deluxe instant crap they want you to buy. Food is such an emotional facet to our wellbeing.
