Quiet from Susan Cain. I'm not a loud extrovert but I am an extrovert. This book opened my eyes to how lop-sided the world is, especially the classic corporate world. Full of noisy alpha types ignoring anyone not fast enough to talk over their own babble.
It looks very interesting, Jessie. Quiet is a book that has bounced off the periphery of my consciousness a few times. I never gave it a proper look until now. Does she have anything to say about people like me – introverts who love to get up and perform?
I think the joy of her book is that it stops you from carving the world up in black and white, introvert, extrovert, quiet and loud. We're not all one thing. It's well written, thoughtful and measured. I recommend it
Since you recommended it, I have heard Quiet talked about on Radio 4, I stumbled across Susan Cain’s TED talk, and today the Kindle edition was on sale for 99p. Obviously I snagged it. I would be crazy to ignore hints that big.

Ha! That was certainly the universe talking!
Cool. I’m a fan of anything that helps move people away from artificial binaries.
