1. Make lemonade
Flip it. What’s good here? Where is the opportunity? What do you have to be grateful for? You always have a ton of things to be grateful for. If you can do this, like really purposefully do it as if you are running up a hill, it usually doesn’t take long to get yourself to place where you are coping with the lemons and making good stuff happen in the world.
2. Hurl the lemons around the room
Whinge. Moan. Complain about the unfairness. Curse the cruel sun in its path across the sky. When you have big feelings about the lemons and you can’t, in the moment, transmute them into positive action, get the feelings out of your system. Release the energy of the feelings any safe way you can. (Try not to aim them at the people or animals around you.) Once you’re feeling calmer, your thinking brain can step in and lead you back towards strategy 1 with some pre-softened lemons.
