๐๏ธ Trying to run your life based on your emotions is like trying to steer your car with your fuel gauge.
Book of TREE 2.64
Emotions tell you how you feel. (Duh.) They generally show up with instincts about what you should do based on what you feel. Often those instincts are terrible. A big part of growing up is learning when to override your emotional instincts. It starts when youโre a toddler and you discover youโre not allowed to smack the kid who took your toy.
When you add conscious, grown-up effort into working with your emotions, there are some big benefits:
You learn to understand emotions as useful providers of information rather than almighty life-controlling forces.
You make a habit of observing and considering your emotions before taking action.
You can get better at choosing to flow with your emotional response or override it.
A nice mid-week groove.
Grow slowly
