Obsess over the message. The right medium will make itself obvious.
When you have a message, have the message all the way. Know what you want to say and why. Understand the arguments against your message and the principles behind it. As you understand the what and the why of your message, the how will emerge naturally. You will discover the medium that is exactly right for conveying your message.
Yesterday’s post and today’s plot two ends of a spectrum. When you want to say something, it doesn’t matter so much whether you start with the medium or the message so long as you start. In reality, you’ll probably start somewhere in the middle with a bit of both. Medium and message are symbiotic. It’s not likely, though it is possible, that you will have one without at least a hint of the other.
