What is the point

of seeing,
if I’m here
but looking for something else

of tasting, if I eat
but don’t savour the meal

of hearing,
if I listen
without seeking to understand

of touching,
if I close myself off
from the ones I love

of creating,
if I fail to make
what is in my heart

of walking,
if I’m unaware
this Earth is holy ground

?

I have an unfair advantage. It’s easy to notice the ground is holy when you live somewhere as beautiful as I do. Christine took this photo Sunday afternoon at Slimbridge Wetland Centre.

‘I wasn’t looking for what it was I found / myself standing on some holy ground / I couldn’t stand it and I had to sit down
