Jesus was from a nothing village in an occupied territory of the Roman empire, far away from all the exciting capitals of business, politics and culture. And โ readers in the UK will know what I mean here โ even though he was born down near Jerusalem in Bethlehem, he grew up in The North.
When you are far from the centre โ geographically, culturally, economically, ideologically โ itโs easy to discount your ideas, potential and power. But on the edge, there is freedom. There is space to think new thoughts. Some of the best ideas come from the edges.
Jesus was born on the edge. He lived and worked in the north of a tiny Roman-occupied strip of land. And yet his teaching and the movements in his name have shaped cultures across the world and continue to do so.
Pay attention to whatโs going on at the edges.
Donโt discount yourself just because you come from the edges.
I asked Adobe Firefly to generate a โneon techno nativity sceneโ and the AI was like, How about this curveball, Jeff? Iโm going to give you Joseph and Gary.
Grow slowly
Jeff
OK so I read your post and I was very touched and I have never thought of this before so good job my friend. Then I see the Joseph and Gary and I absolutely crack up big LOL thank you for that, too. Also, I Google mapped Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Nazareth. Kind of interesting even though Iโve been there and traveled those parts, to see the distances done by foot and donkey.
The edges are pokey and ouchy and dangerous, maybe ๐ค. Point is itโs a challenge that you take on. I do this and itโs calculated risk . Yet I also know there be dragons ahead ๐ฆ I gain my skill and go use it. Learn it. Use it. Iโm using it right now, staying in my lane. No idea what lies ahead and thatโs a good thing.๐ฆ Edges are for fine focus ๐งโโ๏ธ
