Today, the Pentel GraphGear 1000 (0.7mm lead) teamed up with the Koh-I-Noor Versatil 5311 and we drew this bird, which is almost certainly native to New Zealand.
Then the pencils said, More please. I said, Okay but it’s probably going to be sad.
Whenever I do a TREE week like this I have to remind myself that
I don’t need to feel guilty for doing something that’s not useful.
I can trust that following the creativity will lead me to do the thing that actually needs done today.
When I lose subscribers – I always lose subscribers when I take a break from the advice to tell a story or show a drawing – it doesn’t mean I made the wrong choice.
This was my playlist for my entire workday today, excluding meetings.
Grow slowly
Jeff
P.S. My book contains a bunch more of my drawings.
The pens are certainly having fun with you 😉And I am having fun watching your play 😀 I have been in silence 2 days. I emerge today and go on a blind date tonight. It feels like I cleaned house inside when I withdraw from contact. I “stumble” onto projects that are mindless yet meaningful, like putting tinsel, strand by strand, on the 🌲
And Jeff, I’m living for these drawings!! I just wrote a huge essay--that won’t see the light of day because it’s very lame--about AI and uncanny valley: the absence of human hand that makes art not art because it looks almost human-created but you know it’s not. Anyway, keep going!
