Some people believe a person is their body.
Some people believe a person is a soul who inhabits their body.
Whatever you believe, you are stuck with your body
for quite a while,
probably decades.
It makes sense, then, to like your body,
to really like it,
a lot.
Liking is like most things: it’s learnable.
You might not like your whole body, but
there’s certainly some part somewhere
that you appreciate. Start there.
Call it good. Say you like it. Notice
how it’s connected
to other parts
that are also good.
Make a habit of pointing out to yourself
the goodness
of your body.
When you like something, you’re more likely
to look after it, keep it running smoothly,
fill it with good things, not garbage,
which leads to more liking,
which leads to more looking after,
which leads to what they almost say
in The Lion King:
it’s ‘the circle,
the circle of like’.

Here’s a good getting out of bed groove (Spotify). FYI the video rather visual. If you are not in the mood to see a lot psychedelic bodies, go for the Spotify link.
Yeah, you groaned at the pun, but you’re going to remember today’s post because of it.
