One.
Drawing words is one of my main forms of doodling. This week, I’m doodling the post titles with my favourite pencil (Pentel Graphgear 1000) filled with my favourite lead (Pentel Ain Stein 0.7 mm).
Two.
When you are growing slowly, you don’t necessarily notice that you are growing at all. Now that we’re into the last three weeks of the year, take some time to notice.
How have you grown over the last 12 months?
Think about times when you were kind to yourself and to others.
When did you take time to understand and develop empathy?
Did you receive better information and change your mind about something?
When did you show up and do the work even when you weren’t feeling it?
What good habits did you form?
Did you have times when you were living on purpose and not just drifting?
If you are recovering from trauma or injury, if you are grieving, where are you now compared to a year ago?
What ideas have you tried?
Think about times when you were playful in your work.
I bet you are making some good progress!
Three.
If you ever want a masterclass in dedication to one’s craft, find an interview with Noel Gallagher talking about songwriting. For now enjoy this perfect piece of Britpop (except for the silly drum fill at 3:37).
This week we’ll be doing that end of year reflection and looking ahead thing.
Today’s good news is that the small-text-in-mobile-email-apps bug is fixed. I hope you have enjoyed the glorious readability of today’s post.
Grow slowly
Jeff
Love the drawn words. I do that, too. I photo’d the list to use for reflection of how I have grown this year. I learned how to live in my rv full time. Wow!
