Even the most empathetic human in the world cannot completely know what another person is going through. People all around you are living through terribly difficult things that you’ll never understand. And people all around you are experiencing happiness for reasons that you cannot comprehend.
You know those times when you’ve told someone ‘You don’t understand!’? It works both ways.
When people are unkind and insensitive, when they don’t show you their best selves, when they drive badly in your lane, try and remember one of my favourite mantras:
Everyone’s dealing with their own shit, man.
