How do you do hard things?
You have an idea.
You have part of a plan.
You’ve taken the first steps.
But how do you make sure
you get up and get going
during the long middle?
When you are at sea
and you can’t see
the safe harbour you left
or the destination you seek
how do you keep going?
Get a boss.
A boss could be
your schedule,
a deadline,
your audience,
a friend
who takes no bullshit,
an actual boss.
It doesn’t matter who
or what your boss is.
What matters is that
the boss is strong enough
to get you working
when you feel
underinspired.
The good news is that once you get to work the inspiration usually shows up. When it doesn’t, you’ve still done the work and made some progress.

Jeff and I had a brief discussion last week about niche bands or bands that are not so well known on this side of the pond. The song I shared on Friday by Magdalena Bay is considered quite niche in my neck of the woods. So I spent this past weekend looking into bands that werent so well known or unknown in the States. This falls in that category. But I really enjoy the groovy, punchy vibe to it. I hope you do, too.
Honestly, I am the friend that takes no bullshit in my small circle. We are highly needed, if I say so myself.
But progress is progress, and any forward momentum is better than backwards…even if it’s tiny.

Bonanza Clementine is coming soon to your inbox (if you want it).
What if we were trying to recover from the Moustache Event and the heroes were missing and the leaders weren’t worth following but the pike still needed to be saved from extinction?
