I don’t know what you are facing today. I don’t know if your day will be difficult or delightful. I do know that if you turn whatever you are doing into a game, you are likely to be happier, more creative and more effective.
Some ways to gamify your day:
Race – can I do X in X number of minutes?
Board game view – use your imagination to zoom out on your day/office/relationships. What are the patterns? How can you disrupt the unhealthy ones and strengthen the good ones?
Ask, What if we… to get fresh ideas. Don’t worry about being practical. Be silly and weird. Give your brain permission to go off.
Solve the puzzle – reframe a difficult problem as a fascinating puzzle that you get to solve.
Too much positivity for a Monday morning? Too much denim?
I am pausing paid subscriptions at least until the autumn. As I’m sure you know, the Book of TREE posts are existing posts that I’ve reordered and am updating and reposting. I’m calling it the Book of TREE because once all 366 posts are reissued, I may turn them into a real book of daily readings. While I do this, my main creative focus is on other things. Skyler is busy with her job. It’s not right to ask you to put your money where we can’t put our time, so we’re pausing.
Once I’ve finished the Book of TREE, I think there will be a fresh direction for FFOREST and I will probably offer paid subscriptions again. For now, let’s keep enjoying TREE, talking to each other in the comments and listening to the music.
Onwards!
Jeff

I like the idea of turning the day into games. I actually do this with housework, eg can I empty the kitchen bin in 2 mins, can I vacuum the downstairs in 15 mins etc. The boardgame, however, has got me thinking 💠I can feel this stretching my mind a little. These daily posts would be a great book, one I would give to my friends. Have a good day!
