Your story is worth telling

In a world drunk under the influence of divisiveness and stereotypes and trapped in the pub by prejudice-reinforcing algorithms, FIELD GUIDE is the black coffee of joyful sobriety – stories of real people from all over who love what they do and improve the world by doing it. (That was a weird metaphor.)

Instead of feeding your fear, FIELD GUIDE nourishes your empathy and fertilises your curiosity. (I’m all over the metaphor shop!)

Over the past five months, Skyler has brought you the stories of a teacher, a musician, saviours of books and bees, a very unexpected cop, someone who got sober, Keri and the dead, film makers and more.

Along the way, we’ve been figuring out what FIELD GUIDE is meant to be. If you’ve been reading the past few Fridays… you will have noticed that Skyler has it sussed. She’s got FIELD GUIDE on fleek. Fleek and a half, even.

We’re just getting started. And it’s your turn now. You have a story worth telling and we want to share it.

Why does the work you do matter to you? When you share, it’s going to matter to us too.

What do most people not know about the work you do? Let us in on the secrets.

What do people misunderstand about your life situation? Maybe you have a mental or physical condition that people just don’t get. Please help us understand it.

What do you rescue, crochet, paint, design, build? What challenges have you faced and overcome? Who do you work with?

What do you do that other people are impressed with (that maybe doesn’t seem like such a big deal to you)?
