Today, instead of FIELD GUIDE, we have two announcements and two announcement previews for you.

But first,
thank you for being in the FFOREST!

We work hard to make sure there is something worthwhile in your inbox every weekday. The fact that you read what we write, reply, comment and share— It’s like, Wow! We’re actually doing a thing that matters to people.

It’s hard to overstate how big a deal that is to us.

Skyler:

FIELD GUIDE has become a part of the week that many of you look forward to and that is such a great honor. I am so thankful that the work, the people, the passions, and the voices I share with you are so well received.

That being said…

FIELD GUIDE is going on a reduced publishing schedule for a while.

This is because they take time. I want to make sure I get it right every time.

We also need time to find new contributors. I promise, everyone has a story worth telling. You, or someone you know, would make a great addition to FIELD GUIDE. When you’re ready, I hope you reply right to this email so we can share your story.

I can’t wait to hear from you.

Jeff:

I’ve said since I started TREE in 2021 that I planned to make things for sale. It’s finally happening. I’m going to be using a lot of material that I have written over the last two-and-a-half years. That means it can’t just be sitting around on the internet for anyone to grab. Next weekend, the archives are disappearing from public view. If there are any posts you particularly want to keep, find them, copy them and save them for yourself before next weekend.

Remember: TREE and FIELD GUIDE will always be sent out for free. They are gifts.

Some things won’t be disappearing. The TREE introductory series will remain available for obvious reasons. TREE guest posts and FIELD GUIDE won’t be disappearing. People give a lot of time and energy to write for us. It would be unfair to hide their excellent work. We’ll also be keeping post available on the site for 30 days after we send them.
