—Steve Angelo, the artist that got fired and replaced by Michelangelo
“I feel like it’s really important to double down on my research. I want to make sure this story is authentic before I start writing. Wanna come fishing with me?”
—Ernie Stitchingway, an old man and the sea he never wrote about
“I haven’t recorded any songs yet. I’m focussing on building my brand right now.”

Ideas are essential. They give direction. They illuminate possibility.
But if an idea is going to matter, then at some point, a thing has to be made. The wood must be shaped. The code must be typed. The story must be written.
The word must become flesh.
So often, the work of making is also the work of discovery. It’s in the making that you see the true potential of an idea. It can be where you uncover a better idea that you didn’t see at first.
Sometimes, there is no discovery. The idea is already complete. You’re just making the thing.
No matter how it goes, you are making the thing
This is creative work: making the thing.
