Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Or enjoy the sunset.
When things end, they create space for new things to begin. One of the great underrated skills is the ability to appreciate the beauty of endings.
Two.
I’ve been wearing this pair of shoes for 25 years (with some breaks). They started in the late 90s as my best shoes. After a couple years I guess, they were downgraded to everyday shoes. Then they became my walking shoes. For the past 15ish years, they have been my gardening shoes. They are still super-comfortable. In a world of disposability and planned obsolescence, this kind of quality is unique and admirable.
Three.
Easing into the week with…
Last week I started getting ready in earnest for our move to Bristol. I disassembled the chicken coop I built seven years ago and burnt the wood. I took the old trampoline to the household recycling centre. I filled in the trampoline levelling holes in our sloping lawn and planted grass. I thought about endings and beginnings. I wore those shoes from the photo a lot.

Ahh, resourcefulness. Even thriftiness that my report card reflected amiss. I’m using both skills and honing them now in rv life. I took my watch off and with infrequent internet, I am adjusting to only the sounds of nature. Shoes. I really dig those zapatos, Bro 😎
