I wrote yesterday about being a persistent designer. One of the things I do that I think matters is I carry on fiddling with a design after it seems done. There’s always the possibility of making a design better. There’s always a chance that a mistake has slipped through the checks so far.
Last week I gave a newsletter one last check after the client had approved the final artwork. I found and fixed three mistakes.
You don’t get any extra credit or money for doing that extra bit at the end. Most of the time no one even notices. I think it’s worth it though.
It means you are living according to your internal integrity.
While people may not notice the individual details, you will develop a reputation for excellence.

This is the attitude I’m talking about. (I know I shared a song from this album not long ago, but I’m seeing her live in December – unless we’re in another Covid shutdown – and I’m a little bit ridiculously excited.)
