One.
Anger is powerful. It burns explosively. It propels you into action.
It is an excellent response to injustice and evil.
It gets you off your backside and into the fight.
But change takes time
and anger burns out.
Or burns you out.
You need something else to fuel you when
you are trying to right a wrong
or create good art
or live a life.
That something else is joy. Joy has the energy for long, hard work.
How do you fuel yourself with joy? I wish I knew a direct answer to that. I know that joy shows up when I choose gratitude, curiosity, possibility, kindness and empathy. Iโm more likely to have it if Iโm sleeping enough, eating well, exercising, spending time outdoors and listening to good music.
