One.
The boots don’t just match your eyes, darling. They match your everything!
Two.
People have a tendency to look at other people in different circumstances from their own and say things like:
‘I wouldn’t be corrupted.’
‘I wouldn’t fall into depression.’
‘I wouldn’t become an addict.’
‘I would work twice as hard and make something of myself.’
People like to assume they are the exception.
Don’t do that. Because you almost certainly aren’t the exception.
Instead, assume you are like everyone else and put things in place to keep you from falling victim to the illnesses and traps that most people are susceptible to.
What accountability do you have in place to keep you from being corrupted by your success?
How are you looking after your mental health?
What safeguards do you have in place to stop you from becoming an addict of one sort or another?
What have you done to build a strong the work ethic and resilience you need to get through setbacks and difficult times?
Three.
I chose this song because it’s better than ‘If I Ever Lose My Faith in You’.
Speaking of fallibility, I wrote something really dumb about the film Get Out in TREE 240 on 10 September. I have updated the post to explain my dumbness and say I’m sorry.
I’m growing slowly.
