There are many voices β some come at you with great authority, some come from inside your head β telling you who you should be, how you should change, why you are not good enough.
For right now, listen to a different voice: mine.
But only because Iβm agreeing with your own insistent, true voice that says, Who you are at your core is exactly who you should be. You evolved/were created to be part of this planet at this time. You have a one-of-a-kind mix of body, personality, preferences and talents.
Itβs good to be you.
Hereβs why you need faith. Some days it doesnβt feel good to be you. Some days no one is saying that itβs good to be you. Some days those voices telling you to be someone else are overpoweringly loud.
You may have a lot of accumulated not-you that needs to be stripped away β stuff that hides the good-to-be-you from view. Getting rid of the accumulation takes work. Itβs like clearing out a fatberg from a London sewer. Faith is believing whatβs true even when the truth is invisible.
Whatβs true is itβs very good to be you.
If you didnβt catch it on the socials over the weekend, please take a couple more minutes to read Consider a tree. Itβs related and itβs why I you this email every day.

Asteroids Galaxy Tour make the kind of music that it seems like Paloma Faith should make. (This whole album is pure fun.)
Welcome to faith week!

This is more great stuff, Jeff-- I really appreciate this: "You may have a lot of accumulated not-you that needs to be stripped away β stuff that hides the good-to-be-you from view. " --- My hope is that my quest for authentic spirituality aids this process, after decades of experiencing the opposite. Thank you!
