One.
You know the feeling.
Two.
For most of my life I’ve either been a child or worked with children and young people. My life rhythms are synchronised with the academic year. I feel like September is the beginning of my work year. Perfect example: 6 September is the beginning of TREE year two.
Right now, while summer is winding down, is the perfect time to ditch the year’s accumulated clutter. I like to get rid of excess physical stuff, obviously, but the most clutterable area of my life is digital.
Here’s a digital clear-out checklist:
Search ‘unsubscribe’ in your email app, then unsubscribe from every newsletter you’re not excited to read
Delete the apps that you aren’t using or that are wasting your time
Unfollow any social accounts that aren’t helping you grow
Turn off notifications that get in the way of living your real life
Clear out your downloads folder
Back up your photos and clear your camera roll
Empty your trash/bin
Rearrange your home screen so it supports the way you want to use your phone
Find some fresh wallpaper
Have I missed anything?
An hour or two tidying your phone and computer can create a surprising amount of clear space in your brain.
Three.
This is my favourite song about concentrating on the sea.
Grow slowly
Jeff
September is my birthday month. 9/9 ( yes, Lucky 9's). This year I will be fifty. Autumn and September has always been my favourite time of the year and I usually "reset"in one form or another. I like your list. I'm off to go clear out some clutter.
Interestingly I started doing this yesterday on my phone. I offloaded apps on my phone and thought to my myself I definitely need to cull my photos as I have 10’s of 1000’s as I take loads everyday of dogs to send owners. I’ll keep those that I consider the best (photos not dogs) snd free up some space not just on my phone but mentally too :)
