One.
I’ve definitely achieved effortless coolness this time, Tyler shouted to his houseplants as he exploded out of the house in 2½ pairs of pink knee socks.
Two.
I used to believe
that all human beings were fundamentally broken,
that I had the magic answers which would fix them,
that I belonged to the Club of People
Who Are Better Than Ordinary Humans.
Then
my magic answers didn’t work,
even though I followed the instructions.
I met some Ordinary Humans (outside the club)
because I needed their help.

I think people are fundamentally human.
We sometimes break. We usually heal.
We all need to practice the slow magic
of becoming fully alive.
