I write TREE with some assumptions about you:
You are a good person
You are actively working on personal growth
It is important to you to contribute more than you consume
I write with this foundational belief about people in general, and you specifically:
When you are you and you spend as much of your life as possible doing the things that make you feel most alive, you will contribute what you are meant to contribute and the world will be a better place because of it.
TREE is not about trying to turn you into a certain type of person. TREE is a small but powerful daily boost to support you as you become the best most-you version of you.
With that in mind, here are the two ways to get the most out of TREE
1. Circle back
If you read TREE in the morning, read it again at lunch or before you go to bed.
Save the posts that resonate and return to them regularly.
Revisit posts on areas you are working on. As of today theforest.substack.com has 76 searchable posts for you to use.
2. Share
Talk about the ideas in TREE with family and friends.
Use email and the socials to share posts that resonate with you – and here’s the important part: add your own thoughts.
Explaining and interacting with the ideas in TREE helps embed them in your life.
Sharing is also a huge favour to me. TREE is a gift that I want to give to as many people as possible. Please share TREE freely, generously and often. Help multiply the gift.
You’ve probably read How to TREE, the manifesto/guide that you get when you subscribe to TREE. It goes into today’s topic in more detail. If missed it or want it again, let me know and I’ll send it to you.
Grow slowly
Jeff
