I didn’t ask to be born.
Almost every morning when I wake up, the first thing I tell myself is: Life is a gift.
My life is a gift.
Your life is a gift.
The chances of your particular set of chromosomes and DNA coming into existence are stupidly ridiculously extremely very small (1 in 10 followed by 2,685,000 zeroes). But here you are.
Your life is a beautiful gift to the neighbourhood.
Enjoy!

Here’s a new old thing. Today and most every Thursday that follows until I decide otherwise, I will be sharing an old TREE email.
Imaginary you: Why?
Me:
Ever since I moved from Mailchimp to Substack, I’ve been thinking about how to make the first 95 TREE emails available to all of you. This is how I’m doing it.
If you have been here since the beginning, it’s good to go back and review ideas to see how you’re using them.
I’m guessing some of the old emails could use a bit of improvement. This gives me a chance to do it.
Imaginary you: Are you running out of things to write about?
Me: Nope. I started TREE with a full year’s worth of ideas. We’re eight months in and I still have nearly a year’s worth of ideas.
Imaginary you: Cool.
Me: Thanks.

For the rest of us who want to get properly happy, here’s the fun version:
