Studies have shown that if you go chasing a pigeon in town centre, that pigeon will stay out of your way next time it sees you. You can wear a different shirt, pop your hair up in a man bun, pluck your eyebrows off – doesn’t matter. Pidge will recognise and avoid you. But if you hang out with them and share your lunch, it’s highly likely they will look out for you and even tell their friends what a lovely person you are!
Go full pigeon and heed the words of Maya Angelou: ‘When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.’
Of course we all have bad days and I’m not saying people need to be perfect. I am also not getting into talking about forgiveness here. I am talking about trust. If a person is truly a trustworthy person - they will show you. Believe them.
